Terms of Use for CamScript

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using CamScript ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

CamScript is a teleprompter application for macOS that provides:

• An overlay window invisible to screen sharing software
• Manual, automatic, and voice-activated scrolling
• Script management with Markdown support
• Offline voice recognition

3. License

CamScript grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on any Mac devices that you own or control, subject to the Apple App Store Terms of Service.

4. Permitted Use

You may use CamScript for:

• Video recordings and content creation
• Live streaming
• Presentations and webinars
• Podcasting
• Public speaking preparation
• Any other lawful purpose

5. Prohibited Use

You may NOT use CamScript for:

• Cheating on exams, tests, or assessments
• Academic dishonesty of any kind
• Fraudulent activities
• Any illegal purposes
• Violating the rights of others

Using CamScript to cheat on examinations is strictly prohibited and may result in termination of your license to use the App.

6. Intellectual Property

CamScript and all associated content, features, and functionality are owned by the developer and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data. In summary:

• All data stays on your device
• No personal data is collected
• Voice recognition works offline
• We have no access to your scripts or content

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

CamScript is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that:

• The App will meet your specific requirements
• The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
• The invisible overlay feature will work with all screen sharing software

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the App.

10. Third-Party Services

CamScript uses Apple's on-device Speech Recognition framework. Your use of voice-activated scrolling is subject to Apple's terms and conditions.

11. Updates

We may update the App from time to time. Updates may include bug fixes, new features, or changes to existing features. Continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance of any changes.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms of Use or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms of Use at any time. We will notify users of significant changes through the App or our website. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
